Gwendolynn Slayton

Welcome to Under The Sun Designs! I'm Gwendolynn Slayton, a self-taught artist whose passion for creativity and appreciation of beauty fuels every piece.

I am a team of one so each piece I make starts and ends with me.  Using laser technology since May 2023, I've honed my skills in crafting intricate designs, usually between 4 to 8 layers of wood. Each layer is individually designed to complement the next, hand-painted, stained, and polyurethane before being expertly assembled.

Located in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, our coastal surroundings and my meditation and yoga practice inspire the essence of my creations. I also lived in the majestic mountains of Colorado for a good portion of my life. You'll see this influence in some of my work as well.
