Maggie is a first generation Cuban-American born and raised in Atlanta Georgia. Coming from a family of artists, Maggie was encouraged to pursue her desire for painting from an early age . In high school she was awarded a scholarship to attend SCAD from her AP portfolio. She went on to earn a dual-degree, a Bachelors of Art and Bachelors of Fine Arts ( Illustration and Advertising concentration) from Oglethorpe University and The Atlanta College of Art at the High Museum, both in Atlanta, Georgia. She continues to pursue her passion for creating through study with such renowned artists as Nancy Franke, James Richardson, David Shevlino and Margaret Dyer, to name a few.
Maggie can be found in her studio most days, putting onto paper all the bold and beautiful colors she sees from her preferred subjects. She loves to capture her daughters, their friends, the beautiful Eastern and Gulf coasts, and the many cows, that her late father adored.
Maggie enjoys painting in traditional paints, as well as soft pastels. She enjoys a mixed media approach to keep things interesting. Bringing bold color and movement to her pieces is what she strives for most in her art . You may even spot a little shimmer in her beloved cows.
Maggie’s works can be found gracing homes around the south as well as abroad. Maggie paints in her home studio located in Brookhaven, Georgia.
